Objectives: The non invasive instrument of heart rate variability (HRV) is going to become the enabling tool for screening, intervention and evaluation in the fast-growing health market. This because the method covers all clinical and non clinical sectors and some of the requisite hard- and software has become sophisticated, userfriendly and cheap.

Activities: As many other instrument HRV only makes sense when it is used with know how. Therefore the background, application spectrum and exemplifications of the method will be communicated in this workshop. Newest equipment from different providers will be demonstrated, such as breathing detection via accelerometry, simultaneous real-time displays of breathing and heart rate graphs, video-synchronisations and a new „science“-software that facilitates the handling of data conspicuously and allows easy access to the data of several thousands of measurements from different healthy peer groups. Intended participants: Health service providers, scientists, all interested psychologists.
